I've learned to lean on Jesus
It was around 1999 or 2000, I had been away from the
church for five or six years because something had
caused me much hurt. By God's grace, I remained in
love with Jesus and was committed to teaching my
children (7 great nieces/nephews) to love God
through our Friday night kitchen bible study. One
day I came home from work, feeling alone and a bit
depressed over the grave responsibility of caring
for the children. I sat on the sofa and heard the
radio playing "I've learned to Lean on Jesus." I
listened so intently that I don't remember falling
or how long I rolled across my living room floor.
But when Holy Ghost let me, I got up, determined to
not let go God's Hand again. We went to Church that
following Sunday and have been going ever since. The
children have lived with me for nearly ten years,
since my sister passed away. They have learned to
love the Lord and sings in the choir. We still have
daily bible study (morning devotion) and today my 11
year old nephew closed with prayer. If you ask the
kids, they will tell you that Mr. Williams and the
QC's songs are often played in this house, leading
my praise of the Lord.
We often will offer prayers for famous people like
Mr. Williams & the QCs, but not in the same manner
as, say Christians suffering persecution in the
Sudan or some Islamic Country. Recently I was
reminded that folks like Lee Williams & the QCs are
constantly thrust into serious demonic battle
because they're soul winners for Christ. Thus, the
Body of Christ must offer prayer for them with the
same fervor as we would for all God's people who
suffer religious persecution. |
